A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, (CSIR), New Delhi, represented by Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI), Adyar, Chennai and SRM University, Kattankulathur in connection with Collaborative Programs in Research and Development and Training was signed on October 28, 2013 at 10.30 A.M. Dr. M. Ponnavaiko, Vice Chancellor of SRM University and Dr. A. B. Mandal, Director, CLRI, have exchanged the Memorandum Of Understanding. Dr. C. Muthamizhchelvan, Director, Engineering and Technology, Prof. A. N. Parameswaran, Dean, Industry-Institute Interaction Cell (IIIC), Dr. M. Vairamani, Dean, School of Bioengineering and Head of the Departments of School of Bioengineering and Faculty members from the Department of Biotechnology attended the ceremony.
Scope of MoU

 The scope of the activities proposed to be covered are the following:

Short term Project work for UG/PG students of the SRMU in the broad areas of Biomaterials, Biochemistry, Bioproducts, Biotechnology, Microbiology and Biophysics, to be carried out in CLRI.

Summer training of SRMU students in CLRI for a period in the range of 10-30 days.

 Delivering Guest lectures, as requested by SRMU.

To serve as Examiner/Expert, as requested by SRMU.

Organizing seminar/symposia in the areas of mutual interest jointly by CSIR/CLRI and SRMU.

Joint submission of R&D proposal to Funding Agencies.

Joint publication of research papers.

Extending access to library facilities.
Individual activity shall be taken up based on specific request from SRM University on case to case basis on mutually agreeable terms and conditions.
