The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Higher Education, Government of India has placed SRM University in Category 'A'. This is indeed a proud moment for SRM University.
This recognition comes as an acknowledgment of the high standards set for higher education through cutting edge research and teaching, innovative pedagogy, state-of - the art infrastructure, highly accomplished faculty, diversity of students across the world, corporate - academic - global connectivity, and excellent governance structure. Meeting these quality expectations and such accomplishment is nothing new to SRM.The management of SRM University thanks all the faculty members and staff for their continuous support, hard work and assures the Ministry to invest best efforts to deliver high quality education.
Evaluation Categories:
The Ministry, based on thorough evaluation, tags the University as 'A', 'B' and 'C'.
Category A: The University (or institutions) found fit in all aspects as per UGC guidelines are listed under 'A' Category. They are completely justified their continuance as deemed to be universities.
Category B: The universities (or institutions) which are reported to be deficient in some aspects which need to be rectified over a three year period are classified as 'B' Category.
Category C: It was recommended that the universities (or institutions) in the 'C' Category be de-recognized as they were found to be critically sort of requirements in various aspects, including research output, infrastructure and governance structure.
