The country needs to achieve at least 50% in Gross Enrolment Ratio in order to sustain a GDP of 10%.. These targets can only be met by deploying alternative methods in higher education and distance education. Creating qualitative and inclusive distance learning programs to reach out to far flung populations of the North-Eastern hill regions is one of the primary objectives of SRM University , Sikkim. Every effort will be taken by the University to help learners to gain access to the portals of higher education, through the use of state -of- the- art technologies in distance learning. The technology enabled learning would include online and interactive methodologies. The SRM University, Sikkim is well positioned to make a significant impact on Open Distance Learning programs as well.
