The Freshers' Orientation for Engineering and Technology students was organized at Dr. T.P Ganesan Auditorium. After counseling and enrollment process, students reached the orientation program, where students and parents were enlightened about the campus, multidisciplinary courses, ambience and many more facilities at SRM University.
The inaugural programme started with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries. Dr. N. Sethuraman, Registrar, SRM University, delivered the welcome address and introduced the directors and deans of Faculty of Engineering and Technology to the parents and students. Registrar, on behalf of President, Chairman and Chancellor assured safety of the students in the campus.
Dr. T.R. Paarivendhar, Honorable Chancellor, SRM University, in his speech, welcomed students to the SRM family. He mentioned SRM University as a unique university with multidisciplinary subjects. He said “We are not only creating infrastructure, but also maintaining standard and quality. SRM is centre for quality education in the country”.
Dr. Prabir Bagchi, Vice Chancellor, SRM University extended warm welcome to the students and parents. Dr. Bagchi in his motivational speech said “As a tree is known by its fruits, university is known by its students”. He also encouraged students to dream big and have faith in their abilities. Dr. P. Sathyanarayanan, President, SRM University, in his speech mentioned about the interdisciplinary courses under one umbrella and the diversified culture in SRM University campus. He also encouraged the students to make maximum utilization of resources available at SRM University.
Some of the parents expressed their gratitude towards the management of SRM University for a hassle free admission process, from counseling to enrollment. They also enunciated the event as a proud moment to get associated with SRM University.The orientation programme came to an end with vote of thanks by Professor D. Kingsly Jeba Singh, Dean-in-charge, School of Mechanical Engineering, on behalf of Faculty of Engineering and Technology.
