Dedication of Vendhar Nagar College of Agricultural Sciences and launching of Telemedicine centre, KTR ,SRMIST

 A visual function was held yesterday (24.08.2020) to dedicate Vendhar Nagar College of Agricultural Sciences, one of the group Institutions of SRMIST and to launch Telemedicine center at SRM Hospital, Kattankulathur. Video screens were installed at Vendar Nagar (college Venue), Baburayanpettai (Near Achirupakkam) and SRM campus, Kattankulathur to live stream the event and the function coincided with the Birth anniversary of our beloved Founder Chancellor Dr.T.R.Paarivendhar, Member of Parliament.

 The Registrar Dr.N.Sethuraman, welcomed everybody, who participated in the event.

   The Vice Chancellor Dr.Sandeep Sancheti and the Pro Vice Chancellor (Medical) Dr.Lt,Col.A.Ravikumar  delivered the introductory  address.
            Our beloved founder Chancellor Dr.T.R.Paarivendhar, M.P dedicated the Agricultural College and telemedicine center by unveiling a tableau& plaque. During his inaugural address he recalled the past status of Potheri village when SRM engineering College was inaugurated 35 years back and expressed his happiness about the current urban status and expressed his confidence that the Baburayanpettai would also develop in future like Potheri .He was confident that the new Agriculture College would be a good friend and guide to all the agriculturists of the surrounding villages. He also explained about the telemedicine center in the wake of current pandemic.
Our Pro Chancellor (Academic) Dr. P. Sathyanarayanan, released “Mental Health App” and delivered a special address. During his address he recalled how everything started on the birthday of our Chancellor succeeded and the dedication of Agriculture College is a befitting act of our Chancellor, being himself came from agriculture family .He also congratulated all faculties, Staff and Administrators for bringing laurels to the Institute .He also explained about the Telemedicine center and confident of its use for the rural people at this critical time of covid pandemic
            A health camp was organized at Vendhar Nagar to Fight against Covid – 19 and free Siddha preventive Medicines were distributed to the 600 Villagers.
Dr.C.MuthamizhChelvan, Pro Vice Chancellor (E&T) distributed sweets and Dresses to the workers who did the construction of the College.
Dr.A.Sundaram,Dean-Medical,  Dr.V.Thirumurugan Associate Director(CL), Mrs.Gothai Prof (Agri),Dean-Dental Dr.Vivek , Chief Engineer construction -SRMECCL and faculties participated and graced the function.
            Director (Faculty) Dr.Ramasamy, proposed the vote of Thanks and the function concluded with National Anthem.  
            The Function was well attended by the Villagers at the College premises with due covid protocols
