color: #222222; font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 16.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Shuru, the official fresher’s event of <b>SRM University</b>, marks the beginning of college life for first year students who leave their nest for the first time. The integral core principle of shuru is to encourage the unmasking of new talent and budding leaders of <span class="aqj">tomorrow</span>. It's an event organised for the fresher’s by their seniors. Auditions were held to handpick the best from a large number of students applying for domains such as Music, Dance, Drama and Literary Events. The shuru main event started off with a 5k Marathon at <span class="aqj">5am</span> in the Morning (5/8/2017) and saw huge participation from the first years. The main event saw its inception at <span class="aqj">10am</span> in the morning with the director lighting the lamp. The performances by the first years and seniors in various domains from fashion to music, dance to drama garnered massive cheers from the crowd. The event ended with the crowning of <b>Mr& Miss Fresher 2017</b>. The highlight of the evening, though, had to be the screening of <b>JAB HARRY MET SEJAL</b>. A big, enthusiastic crowd showed up for the free screening of the movie and the day ended on a happy note.</span><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 16.0pt; line-height: 115%;"><o:p></o:p></span></div> </div>
