The counseling interview process was then described in detail through the digital presentation by Professor Muthusubramanian. The newly launched separate university by SRM Group, SRM University Haryana is also under the list of institutions to be chosen from. The history of SRM University, the various campuses and programs offered, were also briefed upon. The Merit Scholarship by the University was awarded to over 200 students across all the branches to motivate and support them in their academic career.
Mr. Sivasubramanian from the Office of International Relations elaborated about the various interactive programs at SRM University such as Semester Abroad Program, Summer Program, Dual Degree, Internship program and the like. ‘The University has partnered with over 70 Universities from across the world which would give the students a life-time experience’, he said.
Professor S Ganapathy, Dean, Placement, spoke about the placement activities taking place at the university. He detailed about the broad choice of top recruiting companies for the students to select from for an outstanding career.
Along with help desks of various departments, the IGCHE, The Indo German Center for Higher Education and Semester Abroad Program (SAP) kiosks also attracted the attention of the students and parents alike. ICGHE provides dual degree in association with SRM University offering the students with the opportunity to study as well as gain internship at Germany while gaining degree from SRM University too.
The scholarships for SRMEE 2014 Toppers and SRM Employees’ wards’ scholarship were awarded by Dr. Sathyanarayanan, the honorable president of SRM University. The first scholarship was awarded to V. Akhil who had secured 8th rank in the entrance exam conducted by the University and has joined the Mechanical engineering course at SRM. Following which Mr. Sajjan Kumar Kedia from Chennai who is the parent of Krishna Kumar Kedia and Gopal Kumar Kedia, the twins who secured 13th and 19th ranks respectively in SRMEE 2014 and have joined for the Software Engineering course at the University.
According to Dr. Sathyanarayanan, the total scholarship of Rs. 20 crore has been granted this year in form of Founder’s scholarship, Sports, Employees’ Wards, Physically and Economically Challenged categories.
The SRM University Counseling will continue till May 26, 2014.
