SRM Institute of Science and Technology organized a drug awareness programme titled 'Say No To Drugs' On October 12th, 2022 in Kattankulathur. The programme aims to create  drug awareness among students and also eradicate drug usage all over the state, mainly among the youngsters in order to create a better society.



Dr. A. Amalraj, IPS, Commissioner of Tambaram City, Dr. Mahesh Kumar Agarwal, IPS, Addl. DGP of CID, Chennai and Dr. Abilasha, Psychiatrist addressed the event and enlightened the SRM Students about drug abuse and its demerits.

 Dr. S . Ponnusamy, Registrar, SRMIST and Dr. Nisha Ashokan, Associate Director of Student Affairs, and Dr. V. Thirumurugan , Associate Director (CL) also  present the event.


The students of SRMIST took oath against the drug abuse by reciting the pledge delivered from Dr. A. Amalraj, IPS, Commissioner of Tambaram City. 


It becomes imperative to deliver knowledge about drug abuse among youngsters in the present scenarios in order to build a great nation and a drug free society, said Dr. Mahesh Kumar Agarwal.


There are only two paths in our lives, that are easy and hard. It is upto to us on choosing the right path for a successful life, he added. 


Dr. Nisha Ashokan, Associate Director of Student Affairs, SRMIST affirmed in the event that a Marathon Run will be conducted in the Campus of SRMIST on promoting the theme of drug awareness.
