been successfully performed at the state-of-the-art SRM Medical College
Hospital, Kattankulathur near Chennai by doctors from Gleneagles Global health
city.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , serif; font-size: 12.0pt;">The patient, a 46-year-old male from
Andhra Pradesh was diagnosed with end-stage liver disease and was under medical
management initially but later this failed. Due to the decompensated liver disease
status and failure of medical therapy, doctors at SRM medical college hospital
advised the patient and family members the urgent need for liver
transplantation. As the patient did not have matching liver donor from his
family he was listed for deceased donor liver transplantation (DDLT) and was
kept on optimal medical management.</span></div>

performed as part of the collaboration between <b>SRM medical college
hospital, Kattankulathur and Gleneagles Global Health City following </b>a
memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by them. <b>Gleneagles Global
Health City</b>, the largest facility of Gleneagles Global Hospitals, Chennai

participated in Smart India Hackathon – 2019 and stood first in the Complex
Problem category put forward by India Health Link in order to come up with an
innovative way to bring up a healthier India by harnessing the power of social
networks. The team developed a social network that is based on health
parameters which is seamlessly integrated with wearables and other devices for
data collection. Also, it suggests ways to improve health for each person by
using Neural Networks. The likes of Xiaomi Mi Band 2, Apple Watch, Fitbit
Charge etc. were seamlessly integrated for data collection.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Also, the team came up with a very innovative idea to
use an Android Phone’s camera to measure Heart Rate, Breath Rate, Oxygen
Saturation, Systolic Pressure and Diastolic Pressure. These metrics were
collected and sent to server to train the ML model further for improved
accuracy in suggestions. A completely user friendly dashboard was developed by
the team, which worked without any hassles on all platforms. Emphasize on
Mobile First strategy was praised by the judges as India has evidently higher
proportion of smartphone users. Dashboard was integrated with a chat boat which
could help users to clear basic doubts regarding the usage of the platform.
Also, talk to a mentor was an attention seeking feature which enabled users to
meet a mentor from the health industry via live video chat for further
information.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

demonstrated their product to various industry leaders and judges. The team was
praised for their India First approach and feasibility of the suggested

opportunities by multiple companies after having hands-on experience with the

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is a flagship programme under Ministry of Human
Resource Development, Govt. of India, with the aim of transforming rural India.
Following the UBA which primarily focuses Rural Health, SRM Institute of
Science & Technology conducted "Medical Camp and Swachhata Rally"
on 12<sup>th</sup> March 2019 at one of the UBA adopted villages,
Nattarasanpattu, Kundrathur block, Kancheepuram. This is also in line with the
series of events planned across SRMIST to commemorate 150<sup>th</sup> birth
anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.</div>

and thought-provoking banners, they voiced their cause, gathering support along
the way. The rally ended at the Govt High School, which was the venue for the

medical camp,<b> </b>Dr.V.Thirumurugan, Associate Director (CL) delivered the
welcome address and expressed his gratitude towards both the Schools Management
for providing the venue for conducting the inaugural event and medical camp<b>.</b></span><span lang="EN-IN">  He thanked the dignitaries for gracing the function amidst
their busy schedule. <span style="mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Dr. N. Sethuraman,
Registrar, SRMIST</span> in his inaugural address, felt nostalgic and
shared the struggles and best moments of his schools studying in a Government
school. He appreciated the schools for maintaining a clean environment. Nattarasanpattu
being an UBA adopted village, he requested all the people to avail the free
medical services provided by SRM hospital. He promised SRM’s support to the NSS
and Community Medicine Department to provide medical service to people.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

Nattarasanpattu expressed his thanks to SRM for supporting their school. He
humbly requested SRM Management to build compound wall around the school ground
and levelling work. Mr. K. Chakkarapani, Headmaster of Government High School,
and Mrs.K. Suganthi, Headmaster of Government Primary School, Nattarasanpattu
thanked Registrar-SRM for promising to support the people of Nattarasanpattu
with free medical service. They specially mentioned about the UBA cell’s activities
towards their school development. In a special address by Mrs.Satya, State
Level trainee, Swachh Bharat Mission-Grameen, Nattarasanpattu highlighted the
importance of toilet and the ill-effects of open defecation. She requested all
students to take a pledge to construct toilets in their houses, by firmly
requesting their parents. Prizes were distributed to students who took part in
speech, dance, yoga, best volunteer, full attendance and those who secured
first mark in tests.. Ms.IreneSambath, UBA Project Associate, SRMIST proposed
the vote of thanks. The function concluded with National Anthem.
