SRM University founder chancellor T R Pachamuthu expressed
delight at Professor C N R Rao, alumnus of the University, being awarded Bharat
Ratna, country’s highest Civilian Award.
Adding to the list of people wishing Rao were the
management, faculty members, researchers and students of SRM University
The University had awarded honorary PhD degree to Rao in
2010, Pachamuthu said. He also mentioned that the University was highly
jubilant and excited to know that Rao, an internationally renowned chemist and an
institution builder had been chosen for Bharat Ratna.
Pachamuthu added that at SRM University, research programs
are being implemented with a vision that many of their young faculty members
would be conferred with awards such as INSA Young Scientist Award, Shanti
Swarup Bhatnagar Prize and other prestigious awards.
