Last year's champions SRM University retained the SOA Premier League (SPL) title defeating Ravenshaw University by six wickets in the final of the tournament at the SOA University stadium here on Friday night.Continuing their dominance, SRM restricted Ravenshaw to 136 for 8 in the allotted 20 overs and then hit up the required runs losing four wickets in 15.2 overs.The run chase was led by skipper S.Dinesh who hit an explosive 71 off 38 balls which contained 7 fours and six sixes. Lokanath Das was the most successful Ravenshaw bowler cliaming two wickets for 28 runs.

For Ravenshaw, who won the toss, Bibhu Mohanty was the highest scorer with 25 runs (21 balls). He hit three fours and two sixes. Abhishek Tanwar took three wickets for SRM conceding 25 runs.

Dinesh was adjudged the player of the tournament as well as the man of the final match. Member of Parliament Prasanna Patsani gave away the trophies as well as the cash award of Rs. one lakh to the winners and Rs. 50,000 to the runner-up.
In keeping with SOA University's policy of promotion of sports, two budding Under-16 cricketers of the state, Sandeep Patnaik and Subham Nayak were also felicitated on the occasion and presented with cash incentives of Rs. 25,000 each.

SOA University's Deputy Chairman Prof. B.K.Sarap was introduced to the players of both finalists during the break between the two innings.
