Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research” (INSPIRE) is an innovative programme

initiated by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt. of India, to attract talents

to the excitement and study of   science at an early age. Under  the purview of DST INSPIRE

program, SRM University, Kattankulathur organized a science camp with an aim of

attracting and motivating the young minds of India to mould their career for research in the

front line areas of science and technology.

Students pursuing science in school at XI-XII standard during the academic year 2016-17 are

selected and shortlisted for the science camp if they had secured a minimum of 94.2% and above

in 10th Tamilnadu state board/ Matriculation/CBSE-CGPA A1 in 10th standard/ICSE- 95% in 10th standard/AMU Board-86.6% in 10th standard/ Viswa Bharathi-95.1% in 10th standard.

About 487 students were shortlisted for the participation in the science camp. The science

camp had talks from eminent scientists, industrial visits, oneone student-mentor interactions,

hands on experience program, space workshop, science stage show, Quiz, etc.



DST INSPIRE camp sponsored by Govt. of India  organized in SRM University from 7th January to 11th January.About 500 bright(top 1%-above 94% in X standard)school children are attending this 5 days residential camp.The inaugural function  held at Medical College Auditorium on 7th January at 9.30am.
Dr.Christine Pfund,Research Mentor-Science,Technology,Engineering,Mathematics and Medicine(STEMM),Director- Center for the Improvement of Mentored Experiences in Research,University of Wisconsin-Madison,USA will be inaugurating the camp. 
  Padmashree Prof. Rajpal S. Sirohi  Former Director, IIT-Delhi is the guest of honour.
SRM University Vice Chancellor delivered presidential address.
