SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA-SRM IST) in association with NCC and Universal Human Values (UHV) organized a Cleanliness Drive with the theme "DON'T TRASH OUR TREASURE" under the "AICTE SWACHH BHARAT" Campaign on 03rd of December 2022, 6 am.
Dr.V.Thirumurugan (Associate Director (CL) and Nodal Officer (UBA-SRMIST) has welcomed the participants for this activity. The event was inaugurated by Dr. M.Vairamani (Dean-School of Bioengineering). In his inaugural speech, he put forth the Mahatma Gandhiji’s vision on the importance of cleanliness of the country. As a citizen of the country everyone has the responsibility of keeping the streets and the public places clean. Dr.P.Supraja University Coordinator -UHV gave the instructions and safety measures for the participants.
There were about 60+ participants that included students, faculty, non-teaching staff and sanitation workers involved in this cleanliness drive around Potheri lake. The total weight of the collected waste was 361kg.
