CHENNAI: SRM University has come forward to fund the short term training programme for teachers of technical education across the country. The university has offered Rs 1 crore as seed money to the organization to conduct refresher programmes for teachers in technical institutions.
"The aim of conducting these one-week training programmes for teachers of universities, engineering colleges and polytechnic institutions is to update the knowledge and skills of teachers, improve their organizational and pedagogical skills, and to help them familiarize themselves with modern engineering practices," said Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) president R Murugesan.
