ELIMINATE USE OF PLASTIC AND DISPOSE PLASTIC WASTE.

As a part of central government initiative SWACHHATA HI
SEVA CAMPAIGN was conducted on 18 September 2019 that included 180 students of SRMIST, School of Management under the guidance of vice chancellor DR.SANDEEP SANCHETI and with the participation of DR.V.THIRUMURUGAN-ASSOCIATE
DIRECTOR,DR.V.M.PONNAIAH – Dean -FOM, DR.V.M.SHENBAGARAMAN,
DR.S.ARUNKUMAR,DR.A.R.KRISHNAN,DR.P.RAJESWARI,MR.S.CHANDRAN of School of Management.
“Ban of Plastics” this is something that we
have been hearing from every part of the world. There have been a lot of campaigns;
awareness programs happening in our society and making others aware regarding these
issues are highly required. As per the suggestion given by the vice chancellor
DR. Sancheti , SRM IST School of management has got a chance to conduct a RALLY
to spread the awareness of “Plastic Ban”. The Rally was conducted to make
others aware to eliminate the usage of plastic and dispose plastic waste. There
were a total of 180 students along with the faculty members. The rally covered
almost 1.5 km of the campus and students from various other departments were
also given awareness.
Rally mainly made people understand the consequence of
plastic usage and how it can be replaced by other recyclable products. Then,
the students also collected plastic waste all-round the campus and also
encouraged the shopkeepers inside the campus to use only bio degradable
plastic. There were some initiative’s that was taken immediately that added
light to the purpose of our rally. Though there are a lot of initiative’s taken
by the government regarding the same, it’s our responsibility to show our
participation in it. We are looking forward to similar opportunities to bring
in such awareness for the betterment of the society. We also thank our top
management for organizing a needful event.
