which are Anjur, Pattaravakkam, Thenmelpakkam, Orathur and Nattarasampattu
belonging to Kanchipuram district. In the inaugural activity of UBA, SRM
Institute of Science and Technology donated furniture worth Rs. 2 lakhs to a
Govt. Middle School, Thenmelpakkam village, Kattankulathur Panchayat union,
considering the urgent requirement of school children.</span></div>

welcome address by School head master Mr. Anupkumar who highlighted achievements
of the school. He thanked SRMIST for donating furniture and placed few

chief guest of the event. He stressed the importance of rural orientation and
invited School children to visit SRM to get exposed to university campus and
enhance their academic knowledge. Dr. Thirumurgan, project coordinator of the
Unnat Bharat Abhiyan gave the back ground and objectives of the UBA programme. He
expressed his happiness to announce that totally about 600 students and
faculties of SRMIST has registered for volunteering UBA. Mr.Elumalai,<b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"> </b>Ex panchayat leader highlighted his
own contribution as panchayat leader in village development. He welcomed SRM
for engaging with the rural community and stressed sanitation and hygiene were

2018 (World Food Day) on six tracks from six different locations and cover
almost all States/UTs, culminating at New Delhi on 27th January, 2019. It will
comprise of a team of 150 'Volunteer-Cyclists' and the convoy would include an
'Eat Right Mobile Unit' and a Mobile Food Testing Unit. The Convoy would make
'stop-overs' in cities and towns and have transit 'halts' and activities in
over 2000 locations spread over 100 days.</span></div>

beginning with welcoming the participants of the walkathon from Guduvanchery
that ended up at SRM Institute of science and technology. The participants of
the walkathon were holding placards insisting the importance of eating safe,
healthy and fortified foods. The events began to happen after all were served
with the breakfast.</span></div>

dignitaries.Towards the end of the event many people were awarded by the elite
dignitaries for their fabulous work rendered for the FSSAI. The registrar of
SRM IST and the Director of SRM Institute of Hotel Management felicitated and honoured
