Eligibility

Graduates in any discipline or Final year students of Graduate Courses can apply for CMAT.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;"> NOTE: The eligibility criteria for admission to Management programs (Diploma and Post-Graduation) is as mentioned below:

Management (PGDM,MBA and similar) - Recognized Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 Yrs duration with at least 50% (45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying Examination.

Management (PGCM) - Recognized Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 Yrs duration

Management (Executive PGDM) –</span><br />

The Camber Racing team was formulated in September of 2009 to compete in on-track student events organized by SAE India and Formula SAE. SAE or the ‘Society of Automotive Engineers’ is the world governing body on automotive and related fields. With the passion and commitment, the students work as a team to design, build, test and compete an open-wheeled formula style race car. Since the teams formation, three such cars have been developed i.e. CR800, LJM01, The Beast. Keeping in mind the future competitions the team has already started their work on the next car "B13".<br />

The concept behind the competition is that a fictional manufacturing company has contacted a design team to develop a small Formula style race car. The prototype is to be evaluated for its potential as a racing car. The target marketing group for the race car is the nonprofessional weekend autocross racer. Each team designs and produces a prototype based on well laid down rules & regulations. The competition comprises seven events: Cost and Manufacturing Analysis, Presentation, Design, Acceleration, Skid Pad, Autocross, and Endurance.

The Formula SAE competition is organised by the Society of Automotive Engineers and is held in UK, USA, Germany, Italy, Austria, Australia, Spain, Brasil.

In 2011, in SUPRA SAEINDIA competition, the team was ranked 2nd in Marketing Presentation and finished in 24th out of 40 team participating in the competition.<br />

 In 2012, in SUPRA SAEINDIA competition, the team was awarded the overall 1st prize out of 65 teams and along with other awards such as 2nd in Endurance event, 2nd in Autocross event and 2nd in Skid-pad event.

Each year a new car is made from scratch and is an improvement than the previous one. Teamwork, leadership and marketing are the few skills the students learn apart from getting their theoretical knowledge into practice through the design process. The team members and the sponsors get equal opportunity to connect with each other and develop a strong network.</div>

and therefore needs talented people to cook which also involves extensive cost.
At the same time, foods like pizza, burgers and donuts are made at a lower cost

size mainly for making dosas in large quantities. He called his invention,
“dosa printer” which could line up dosas within a few seconds by just pressing

a friend with an intention to adapt food production in the domestic sector and

A seminar on good clinical practice “GCP” was conducted by Interdisciplinary School of Indian Systems of Medicine (ISISM) at SRM Medical College Hospital Seminar Hall. Basic objective of the seminar wasto educate and familiarize both clinical and basic researchers in GCP while simultaneously updating researchers associated with clinical drug trials. The seminar started of with the welcome address by Dr.K.Ilango, Dean, ISISM, SRM University, followed by the Inaugural address by Pro-Vice Chancellor (Medical), Dr. P.Thangaraj. Vice Chancellor Dr.M. Ponnavaikko presented the presidential address where he emphasized the effectiveness of traditional medicines in curing many ailments. He also strongly voiced the need for a professional and scientiﬁc approach towards drug discovery in the ﬁeld ofIndian traditional medicine

A presentation from Dr. K. Ilango, who highlighted the facilities available in the “one of a kind ” metabolic ward established in SRM hospital. Dr. Melvin George, Asst. Prof., Cardiac Research, SRM University, elaborated on the requirement for clinical research and its crucial role in validating therapeutic drugs. Mr. Harish Babu, SMO Connect, Cochin, the main speaker of the seminar gave a presentation on the title “International conference on Harmonization - GCP”. He touched upon several key issues pertaining to clinical research, including, the role of researcher / clinician, ethics and record keeping in drug trials. He specifically stressed the importance of exemplary record keeping, to avoid complications during and after completion of the drug trial.

Defending champion SRM University Winners in the All India inter university Chess Championship 2012 -2013 for the third time consecutively i.e. Hat trick Victory for SRM recently held at University of Calicut, from 3rd January 2013-5th January 2013. Totally 14 universities from all over India participated in that mega Championship and our university click the title for the third time.

SRM University Got 18 out of 20 points in the total 9 rounds, match point 10 out of 10.

December 2012 to 1st January,2013. Our varsity stood out from the rest beating Kannur University (4/0), Pondycherry University (3/1), M.G. University (4/0) and VT University(4/0) and several others.

SRM University -Muthucharam Community Radio  operating at the frequency of 90.4 MHz has now expanded its coverage area to 15-18 km radius including Chengalpet, Perungalathur,Padappai, Vandalur and some panchayats of Kundrathur block. “Interested students from any department can participate in programme production, Radio Jockey (open to -day scholars and hostelers) and Transmission Duty (preferably hostelers) where they can work in shifts. Students can conduct their own programs in English and Tamil.”said Ms. Divyasri, StationManager, Muthucharam CR.

Special programs are queued up for bus drivers of SRM University and Maintenance staff on health awareness and occupational hazards, Awareness program for Government High School girlstudents on child survival and safe motherhood.  Prelims Paper I tests your General Awareness and how
connected you are with the latest happenings around the world. Questions are
usually related to: </div>

 History of India and Indian National Movement; Current
events of National and international importance; Indian and World Geography -
Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World; Economic and
Social Development — Sustainable development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics,
Social Sector initiatives; General issues on Environmental Ecology,
Bio-diversity and Climate Change; Indian Polity and Governance — Constitution,
Political system, Panchayati raj, Public policy, Rights issues and General
Science.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It is natural for a student to be overwhelmed by the
syllabus of General Studies paper-I. But, it has to be noted that the UPSC is
moving away from checking the rote capability of the students and instead has
started checking the analytical skills of the student. For example: 2011 saw a
wave of protests with many following Gandhian ideologies of Satyagraha. The
2012 Civil Services paper tried to test the candidates’ understanding of this
issue and their opinion on the same by posing the quesiton: “How are Gandhian
Ideals like Satyagraha, Swadhinata and Swaraj relevant to contemporary Indian
Democracy?” </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
 Prelims Paper-II </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
 Prelims Paper II designed to test your skills in
comprehension, interpersonal skills, communication, logical reasoning,
analytical ability, decision making, problem solving, basic numeracy & data
interpretation. Broadly, around half the questions in the last two years, were
from Reading Comprehension and Verbal Ability. A good percentage of the
remaining questions test Logical Reasoning, Basic Calculation, Quantitative
Aptitude and Decision Making. Remember that an aptitude paper always tests your
inherent common sense. Thus, performing well in this section is not contingent
on the number of arcane formulae a student memorises, but on the application of
the logic underlying each concept. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<b><span style="font-size: large;">The Main Examination</span></b> </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
 Once you have cleared the Prelims, you become eligible for
the ‘Mains’, which is a true test of your in-depth knowledge and writing
skills. It consists of nine papers, two qualifying and seven ranking in nature.
Out of the seven ranking papers, four papers are from two optional subjects
that have to be selected from a pack of 26 subjects. There are proposals to do
away with these two optional subjects but it has not been confirmed yet.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Candidates who pass the qualifying papers are screened
according to marks and selected candidates are called for an interview. The
Interview for the Civil Services is aimed at assessing whether a candidate is
suitable to be a competent administrator or not. It is not an assessment of the
specialised or general knowledge that has already been tested in the Prelims
and Mains, but the mental ability of the candidate which is judged by the
clarity of expression, appreciation of different points of view, balance of judgment
and leadership qualities.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The general tip passed on through civil service success
stories revolves around in-depth knowledge. Though there has been some paradigm
shift in terms of scoring in Prelims, thanks to the aptitude section, the trend
still continues with a traditional preparation for the general studies in
Prelims done hand in hand with the Mains along with its optional. It therefore
becomes easier to focus on the wide array of topics ranging from History to
Geography to Economic and Social Development, Polity and Governance with
current events and general science. This wide array clubbed with the
comprehension, reasoning, mental ability for numeracy and the English language
makes for a daunting task.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The exam has never been about remembering all topics but
understanding concepts, and this has to be done smartly and swiftly.</div>

The schedule for Preliminary Examination shows no surprise
but, Main Examination 2013 is slated to commence from 8th November 2013 which
shows a delay of approx one month comparing this year which starts October 5,

The need of the hour for public welfare is quality healthcare and easy access to it, said J. Radhakrishnan, secretary of the department of health and family welfare.

Though several programmes were in place for the effective treatment of people suffering from communicable diseases, a great challenge for healthcare providers was the rise of new diseases along with new forms of existing diseases, not just in India, but all over the world, the secretary said on Wednesday.

Stating that the focus should be on ‘cause management,’ the official said, local bodies across Tamil Nadu had done a wonderful job by initiating measures to prevent the outbreak of dengue.

Mr. Radhakrishnan also stressed on the importance of ‘inter-sectoral cooperation’ — different departments and schemes like the highways, public works, local bodies and integrated child development services coming together to tackle problems related to communicable diseases.

Mr. Radhakrishnan was speaking at the inauguration of a healthcare management seminar at SRM University in Kattankulathur, organised by its department of community medicine as part of a memorandum of understanding between the University and the School of Public Health and Community Medicine of New South Wales.

T.R. Pachamuthu, chancellor of the University and Michael Carter, Australian trade commissioner, were among others who spoke on the occasion.

said that the school board exam scores alone decides the career for a student
and to improve the standards we have planned to start 10 more schools in the
