SRM University today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the New South Wales University, Australia. The MoU was signed by the Department of Community Medicine, SRM Medical College and Research Centre, and the School of Public Health and Community Medicine, University of New South Wales, Sydney. The MoU was signed by Dr K R John Professor and Head, SRM Medical College and Research Centre and Prof Ms Raina Macintyre, Head, School of Public Health and Community Medicine, University of New South Wales in the presence of Mr David Holly, Australian Consul General in Chennai, and SRM University Vice-Chancellor M Ponnavaiko at the University campus in suburban Kattankulathur.
The MoU was to promote activities in fields that would enhance both institutions' scientific, educational and technical cooperation interest.
The activities included Common Research Projects, Training, Public Health Intervention and Evaluation. The Memorandum of Understanding will also seek opportunities where the skills and expertise of both institutions could be beneficially combined.
The MoU will also seek opportunities for exchange of Faculty and Students to develop joint research projects on topics of mutual interest and facilitate development of joint training programmes
