MATERIALS CHARACTERIZATION WORKSHOP (MCW-2018)-SRMIST

The Department
of Chemistry, SRM Institute of Science and Technology,Kattankulathur, organized
a two day Materials Characterization
workshop (MCW-2018)on 26-27th July 2018 to provide a conceptual overview of
major analytical techniques for materials characterization with demonstration
on selected techniques. The workshop had 200 participants from different places
across the country.<o:p></o:p>

The inaugural function
was held on 26th July 2018. Dr.
M. Arthanareeswari, convenor MCW 2018 and Head of the Department of
Chemistry welcomed the delegates. The chief guest Dr.A. Ramesh, Director IIBT (Padappai) has inaugurated the workshop
and  in his inaugural address he shared
his deep insights on the role of characterization techniques in crop protection
and discovery research. He emphasized on the importance of the techniques for
furthering sustainable global agriculture. </div>

Sundaresan(JNCASR, Bengaluru), M. Eswaramoorthy (JNCASR, Bengaluru),  Dr.Kaniska
Biswas(JNCASR, Bengaluru), Prof. P.
Ramamurthy (NCUP, Chennai), Prof. A.
R Kulkarni(IIT Bombay) and Dr. Paul
Davis (Shell Technology Center, Bengaluru). 
This was followed by demonstration of sophisticatedinstruments such as
XRD, HRMS, TEM, BET and impedance measurements were d<a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="_GoBack"></a>one
with the help of dynamic volunteers. <o:p></o:p></div>

The work shop
was very much fruitful to the 
participants to understand the concepts behind the charactization
