Indian Genetics Congress 2015 organized by SRM University
Genetic Engineering Association, SRM University,
Kattankulathur, is conducting a national level Indian Genetics Congress 2015 to
provide a common platform for the scholars doing research in Human, Animal,
Plant and Microbial Genetics to share their research finding. The congress will
be held at SRM University, Chennai from 4-6 March 2015
• SRM University, which hosts this congress, is one of the
most preferred Institutions in India offering
a complete range of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs in
engineering, management, medicine and health sciences, and science and humanities.
It has nearly 40,000 students from 48 countries and 28 states of India, and
2661 faculty members, in a vibrant multicultural environment.
• The Department of Genetic Engineering was started in the
year 2004, and it is one of the largest genetics departments in the country
with about 400 students and scholars. It offersB.Tech, M.Tech, Integrated Ph.D.
and Ph.D. programmes. Alumni of this Department are

Indian Genetics Congress (IGC) is a prestigious National
level Congress aimed at providing a common platform for the scholars who are
pursuing research and teaching in Human, Animal, Plant and Microbial Genetics.
We are proud that the Congress will be inaugurated by the World renowned plant
geneticist, and father of green revolution, Prof. M. S.Swaminathan, FRS and the
Nobel Laureate Lecture will be given by the Nobel Laureate Prof. Harald Zur
Hausen.
During the Congress, students, scholars and scientists, who
have made notable contributions to genetics will be recognized by presenting
about 26 research awards under different category includes research awards,
young scientist awards, genetics researcher awards, lifetime achievement
awards, and 50 travel awards.
Full-length articles of selected abstracts can be published
in BMC Biotechnology, which is part of the reputed open-access BMC group of
journals with good impact factor. The congress will be an ideal platform for
BSc/BTech/MSc/MTech/PhD/PDF students, scholars and scientists to present their
research findings during the Congress and take part in the discussions.
